Research on strengthening open source communties

My name is Michael Drane and I’m the community manager over at iHRIS and the OpenHIE Health Worker Registry. We’re doing some research on what makes strong and sustainable open source communities, especially those focused on lower and middle income countries. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take this five minute survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/opensourcecommunities. Responses will initially be part of a technical brief we’re writing on open source communities and then possibly a peer reviewed journal. I’ll be sure to post the technical brief to this thread once it is published. The survey will be up for a week.

Hi Michael,

Two places where you might seek respondents for your questionnaire:

  • KM4Dev – an international community focused on knowledge issues: http://km4dev.org
  • CPsquare – a (very quiet) community gathered around communities of practice: http://cpsquare.org

If you’re interested and would like some suggestions on how to get the word out to either of these two, drop me a line at John (dot) Smith (at) LearningAlliances (dot) net.

Thanks to for being the kind sponsor for this forum!
